Citadel

$1,950.00 USD

Every civilization builds monuments to permanence. Time has other plans.

A historical sovereign becomes the foundation for a miniature citadel, where castles and cannons survive not as instruments of war, but as artifacts of memory.

Part of the Slow Beauty exhibition, Citadel explores how time reshapes the symbols of power. Fortresses become landmarks. Cannons become curiosities. What once projected strength is eventually admired not for its authority, but for the stories it carries.

By collapsing centuries into a single sculpture, Citadel blurs the boundaries between history, mythology, and cultural memory. It asks what survives after empires fade and why certain objects continue to command our imagination long after their original purpose has disappeared.

Perhaps history is not defined by what survives, but by what we choose to remember—and what we choose to elevate.
