The Crown of Confection - where 18th-century court elegance meets contemporary rebellion.
She stands in silent, porcelain majesty, a timeless echo of Versailles luxury reimagined for the modern collector. Her gaze is serene, capturing the ethereal elegance of 18th-century court life. But history is given a delicious, rebellious twist.
Balanced perfectly upon her powdered curls is a spectacular, wide-brimmed chapeau. It mimics a lavishly frosted cake, complete with delicate filigree borders and topped with pastel pink and sunny yellow confections, a nod to the English, a treasured nostalgic snack, French Fancies by Mr. Kipling. Peeking beneath the brim is a secret flash of brilliant gold. It casts a warm, indulgent glow across her flawless features.
My sculptures are about visual contrast, objects that inspire wonder, curiosity and spark conversation.
