CP KATE - 'The Cultivated Soul' - This piece was inspired by a quote from novelist and poet Louisa May Alcott, "Keep good company, read good books, love good things and cultivate soul and body as faithfully as you can" - 'Rose in Bloom'

The piece captures the delicate balance of a well-lived, intentional life. The classical white bust represents the soul and body that Alcott urged us to cultivate. Perched atop her mind are the tools of that cultivation: 

  • Read Good Books: The stacked books with gilded edges represent the weight of knowledge and the "immense help" Alcott believed books provided as lifelong companions. 
  • Love Good Things: Resting at the very peak the floral-patterned teacup filled with pink roses symbolizes the little things that make life lovely and a home happy. 

  • Keep Good Company: The act of tea-taking is a historic symbol of refined ritual and shared space, fostering a connection with others-the "good company" that anchors a meaningful life. 

A statement piece for a space that values deep stories, quiet creation and the fine art of slowing down.

Constructed from multiple molds hand and rotationally cast, assembled into a final work and signed with the CP KATE logo. A small peace sign is incorporated into each work as it's a symbol that resonates.
