CP KATE- Start a conversation with art. 'Scandi Candy' is part of a larger collection that seeks to highlight social media's role in censoring "nude" art, the collection pays homage to artists who have their works blocked or blurred by social media.
'Scandi Candy' is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted sculpture from the 'File Under Fine Art' collection. This work pairs "fine art" with an everyday object, in this case a giant red fish of the Swedish candy variety, constructed of plaster, acrylic polymer and acrylic paint. I make statement pieces with intentional humor and a bit of irreverence simmering below the surface.
All pieces are hand and rotationally cast, assembled into a final work and signed with the CP KATE logo. In addition, a small peace sign is incorporated into each work as it is a symbol that resonates.
